To date, Barack Obama is the presumptive president. How I wish it were not so. But John McCain in his speech gave a gracious concession, encouraging all Americans to stand as one and support the new president of the United States. His speech was one of the most compelling and the most powerful I have heard–someone who does not rant that he was cheated (contrary to Filipino politics)–and acquiesced to the will of the American electorate. Spoken like a true leader. Spoken like a true president. Congratulations to Sen. Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States.
